Dave Woolley RGN, RMN, MAC, MNLP, Trainer, MInstLM

Dave has worked with individuals and organisations in both the public and private sectors and understands the constraints and opportunities that these working environments present. Working within the NHS at managerial level and within the pharmaceutical industry in management, training and research, he understands the many demands the working environment can present.

Dave brings an enormous skill set to the organisation and has many hundreds of hours of coaching practice with staff at all levels including departmental heads and chief executives. This experience has been gained over sixteen years as a manager, trainer and coach.

He has put together a team that can draw on extensive practical and academic excellence in their chosen field. This means you can be sure you are dealing with individuals who truly focus on helping you and your organisation achieve their highest potential.

James was also an investigator for the IPCC (Independent Police Complaints Commission) and utilises his years of varied experience in helping others achieve their training and development needs. A summary of my experience can be seen below:


Feb 2014 – Present: Skills24 Training

Position held: Trainer, coach and NLP master practitioner

Skills24 run a range of training and coaching programs for individuals and organisations. During my time with Skills24 I have worked with a number of individuals and small businesses as a coach, both in a business context and also in terms of other areas of personal development. Using a number of different coaching models and frameworks, I work closely with clients on their identified areas of development and establish a coaching relationship in order to assist them in reaching their agreed outcomes.

Jan 2013 – August 2014: Independent Police Complaints Commission

Position held: Investigator

As an IPCC investigator I was responsible for working on and managing a number of investigations, as well as supporting other investigators with larger long term cases. As an investigator my duties included liaising with the police and other agencies in order to address complaints issues, working with families and members of the public directly involved with an investigation, and carrying out interviews and various elements of an investigation process. This included taking witness statements, studying CCTV, collecting and seizing evidence and exploring other applicable lines of enquiry.

May 2012 – May 2013: Sustrans

Position Held: Schools Officer

As Schools Officer for Stoke-on-Trent my main area of responsibility was to design, promote and deliver a range of safe cycling schemes across the city. Working directly with a number of schools, I designed and delivered a range of cycling events and activities to promote healthy lifestyle and cycling safety. One of my biggest achievements in the role was securing national funding for a number of schools in Stoke-on-Trent to develop their very own cycling programmes that included cycle training, on site cycle storage and a range of bikes for each school to use independently.

May 2012 – September 2012: Race Equality Foundation

Position held: Parent Training Facilitator

The Race Equality Foundation promotes race equality in social support and public services. The organisation does this by exploring what is known as discrimination and disadvantage, develop and deliver evidenced based practice to promote equality, and disseminate better practice through educational activities, conferences, written materials and websites.

I delivered a range parenting courses in the High Peaks area of Derbyshire as part of the British government’s ‘CAN Parent’ scheme – a parenting program available to parents of children aged 0-5. The evidence based program covered a range of issues such as communication, learning through play, coping with difficult behaviour, rules and boundaries and child development.

Feb 2009 – September 2010: Barnardo’s (SMART)

Position held: Senior Family Project Worker and Substance Misuse Lead

As a Barnardo’s family support worker I was responsible for managing a caseload of families across east Staffordshire. My role was to assist parents and families who were seeking support regarding their child or young persons drug or alcohol misuse. Using a range of needs led therapeutic approaches (around models of resilience, educative approaches and solution focused theories), one to one support was delivered to suit the individuals needs. An assessment process was followed throughout the program, with planned interventions offered on both an appointment schedule or as part of a drop in service at a range of locations. I also designed and delivered a range of drug and alcohol awareness training sessions for professionals working in a multi-agency environment.

2002 – 2008: Forestry Commission, England

Position Held: Education / Recreation Officer & Forest School Leader

As an Education and Recreation Officer for the Forestry Commission I worked closely with school parties, the general public, and various external organisations that used the forest regularly. In terms of my work in Education a large portion of my time was spent with school groups – designing and leading educational walks and activities. I developed my own educational programme called ‘Living Sound’ and also represented the Forestry Commission at ‘Springwatch’ – a BBC initiative to raise awareness and understanding of key issues affecting wildlife across the country.
